Guy Shackle has over ten years experience of design for education gained at a number of architectural practices, and he is an RIBA Client Design Advisor.
Built work undertaken prior to his recent appointment to Curl la Tourelle Architects includes a major extension to Addey & Stanhope School in Deptford — featured as a case study in Building Bulletin 93: Acoustic Design in Schools — and the remodelling of Eglinton Primary & Children's Centre for Greenwich Council. He also worked on a major extension to New Woodlands, Lewisham, a special school catering for pupils with behavioural emotional and social difficulties.
Guy has been involved in the Building Schools for the Future programme since its inception — working on outline designs for three major secondary school projects for Greenwich Council, one of the first four pathfinder authorities. He has worked extensively with E.C. Harris LLP on a variety of education projects in both London and Plymouth.
He joined Curl la Tourelle Architects as an associate to oversee the construction of a new secondary school in Crawley. He has been accepted as an RIBA Client Design Advisor focusing on education projects.
