Sarah co-founded Curl la Tourelle Architects in 1996. She has concentrated on architecture for education since 1985 and is the partner responsible for all school projects.

Design for new schools, and masterplan strategies to transform existing schools with selective demolition, refurbishment and new buildings, are Sarah's special areas of expertise. Consultation is essential to her working method and she values the contribution that school users can bring to design strategy.

Sarah believes that children and young people are highly responsive to their physical environment and that well designed buildings help learning.

Sarah has exhibited at the RIBA and has been part of the RIBA working group The Role of Offices in Professional Experience. She is a member of the RIBA Schools Client Forum.
